Short bio

Rainer Scheidle works under the artistic name APPOLONA7 *. His practice combines analogue and digital photography, documentary observation and experimental image-making. He graduated with distinction from Prager Fotoschule Linz in 2026.

* Long story short: I come from the Lech Valley — in the heart of the Alps; incredibly beautiful, but really rough. My family’s “Hausname” has been Appolona for more than a century, and I’m the 7th generation to carry it.

Artist statement

I use photography to question how we see and remember. My work moves between analogue and digital processes, control and chance. By altering, repeating and re-contextualising images, I explore how meaning changes.
